It's a Little Thing

When Vida first started dating Chip and Xander, she wasn't expecting anything permanent. If anything, she figured that Xander would go to far while flirting and she'd have to kill him for hurting Chip or Chip would realize that he could do far better than a walking anger management bitch and head off.

It was about two years into their 'thing' that she realized it was a lot more like forever than she'd really imagined. It started with a phone call from Andy Winters. They'd taken an emergency placement for a boy with high functioning autism named Kody while the state located his dad. Kody did music therapy and while Andy normally could pick him up, her van wouldn't start and she couldn't contact Brian or John, or even Luke (who did farm hand stuff to help them out and was an old friend of the family) and would Vida please pick Kody up and bring him out to the farm.

So Vida goes up to the therapy center at the hospital and she finds the little boy playing with a DJ's table. His therapist had needed to run to the bathroom so Vida kept an eye on Kody. By the time the therapist came back, Vida was showing Kody how to work the tables.

With the therapist was Andy, the social worker and the boy's father.

They walked in in time to hear Kody laugh as he played DJ.

The boy's father, a soldier who had been overseas when the boy's mother had had her break from reality, told Vida it was the first time he'd heard the eight year old laugh.

It stuck with Vida, and so she began looking into music therapy.

When she told Chip and Xander that she wanted to change her degree from Art to Musical Therapy, they immediately supported her. Xander was studying horticulture with the intent of growing a mix of magical and mundane plants useful to healers, and Chip was deeply in his nursing studies, but they were there for her as she changed her major.

When Xander finished his schooling a year later and began talking about buying an actual house, Vida tried to prepare herself for loosing him.

That is, until Xander dragged her and Chip out to look at a large farm house near Winterlight, with the acreage for greenhouses and regular crops and pointed to a room with big windows and a skylight, "I thought you'd like your own office," He told Vida.

She never did explain to them why the thought of her office made her cry.

Jason and Trini's story can be found in All The Wrong Places.  They weren't always the best of best friends, in fact, their first meeting was punctuated by a fight.  They became friends slowly and through the influence of their friends and a determination not to spend their fifth first day of school in the principal's office again.

They have five children who are grouped under the heading of K-Scotts.

Gina Amber Kwan-Scott

Gold

Gina has a heart of Gold, literally, she has the potential to become a Gold Ranger, although the quiet concensous is that it will be difficult for her, given that there are so few gold rangers. She is a protector of her family, quick to stand up for them and unwilling to backdown over doing the right thing.

Dwayne Lee Kwan-Scott

Green

Named after Jason's step-father, Dwayne is the family's troublemaker. He gets into everything he shouldn't, and he's on a track to getting in serious trouble before SPD interviened.

Han Peter Kwan-Scott

Blue

Called Peter, he's been named after his maternal grandfather, and he has a lot in common with the older man.  Peter loves history, he's fascinated with the stories of the past, but unlike his grandfather's love of the family's cultural history, Peter's interest is Ranger history and he will be the author of the first biography of Zordon's Rangers.

Kelly Mai Kwan-Scott

Pink

Named for her grandmothers, Kelly was supposed to be the last of their children.  She's the bright light of the family, always smiling, quick to get involved with things, her nickname is Butterfly, because she bounces around like one.

James Thomas Kwan-Scott

Red

The baby and surprise of the family, Jamie is a red. His natural inclination to lead has pushed him to clash heads with his father. If Gina is the protector, Jamie is the one who steps up for emergencies, showing the maturity his parents often dispair of seeing in him.

Dwayne and Jamie have theme songs to define their relationship with their dad.

Dwayne's song is "He's Mine" by Rodney Atkins

Jamie's is "Love Without End, Amen" by George Strait

Of course, Trini and Jason's song is "Looking For Love (In All The Wrong Places" the Sawyer Brown version.

Ronny and Will have a love/hate relationship, they always have.  She's the successful driver from a family with old money and he's made good on the skills of a misspent youth.  They have different opinions on so many things, but there are the things they agree on as well.  Speed, danger, excitment, they turn to each other before anyone else on the team because they get the addiction best.  Their whirlwind courtship and marriage, as Rose often teased them, had actually been an accident.

In their early diplomatic days, Ronny and Will had been having an on again, off again, friends with benefits relationship that just happened to become 'on again' on a planet that disapproved of that sort of relationship.  To keep from destroying all their good will, Ronny and Will chose to imply that they were engaged to be married, leading to the planet to decide to throw them a wedding.  It was sad to say that more people were shocked by their marriage than they were by the divorce five years later.

There was one other surprise in that relationship...

Ophilia Aton-Robinson

Black Ranger

Ophilia would inherit the MMPR Black Mastodon Morpher from Zack Taylor, her personal passion is singing, and she has true operatic talent.
